Anti-material rifle

Description

This one I concieved in May of 2006. Recently inspired by the high-powered rifles often depicted in Ghost in the Shell - Stand Alone Complex, I set out to design my own anti-tank rifle. I suppose this gun was also inspired by the RT-20, although there are many noticable differences. The RT-20, for instance, is single-shot, I think, and you have to remove it from your shoulder to reload it. This rifle has a magazine containing...maybe 5 rounds, and I positioned the bolt in such a position as to allow it to be operated while still in a shooting position. You'll also noticed that the bolt is closed and locked when the lever controlling it is vertical. In this way, the bolt rotates 90 degrees clockwise to unlock, and can be more easily operated while the user retains a shooting stance. This is ideal for a prone shooting position. Although most anti-tank rifles fire extremely heavy and large-diameter explosive rounds, which makes them short range and rather inaccurate, I decided to make mine posses more traits of a high-velocity rifle, with a small bore diameter and a comparativly large powder charge. This way, I can slap a telecopic sight on it! Score! I even put a night-vision attachement on it, although i have no idea what they actually look like...shoulda Googled it...
The barrell is floating and octagonal. I like octagonal barrells. One may also notice that the butt is adjustable, to a degree.
